Linear solvation energy relationships
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006632
Empirical correlations that relate a chemical property or reactivity to a linear combination of solvent parameters, each representing a specific type of solute-solvent interaction. These relationships quantify the influence of solvent effects on chemical processes. The Kamlet-Taft equation is a common example, using parameters for hydrogen bond donor acidity, hydrogen bond acceptor basicity, and dipolarity/polarizability.
