Bunnett-Olsen equations
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001541
A set of linear free energy relationships used to analyze the protonation behavior of weak bases in strongly acidic solutions. These equations correlate the observed acidity constant with the acidity function and a parameter reflecting the solvation changes during protonation. They provide insight into the mechanism of proton transfer reactions.
