Acidity function
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000141
A measure of the acidity of a solvent system, particularly in highly concentrated acid solutions where the pH scale is no longer applicable. It quantifies the proton-donating ability of the medium. The Hammett acidity function, H0, is a commonly used example for strong acid solutions.
