Lewis acidity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006546
The ability of a chemical species to accept an electron pair from another molecule or ion, forming a coordinate covalent bond. This property is quantified by the stability of the Lewis adduct formed. Stronger Lewis acids readily accept electron pairs, leading to more stable adducts.
