Electrophilicity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003781
The kinetic property of a reagent, known as an electrophile, that describes its affinity for electrons. It is measured by the rate of reaction of the electrophile with a reference nucleophile. Electrophilicity is often correlated with, but distinct from, Lewis acidity, which is a thermodynamic measure of the ability to accept an electron pair.
