Electrophoresis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003782
The migration of charged particles or molecules in a fluid under the influence of an electric field. This technique is widely used for separating macromolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids based on their size, charge, and shape. The rate of migration depends on the strength of the electric field and the properties of the particle and the medium.
