Acidity constant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000140
A specific type of equilibrium constant that quantifies the extent to which an acid dissociates in solution, releasing a proton. It represents the ratio of the concentrations of the dissociated products to the undissociated acid at equilibrium. This value, often denoted as Ka or its negative logarithm pKa, is a fundamental property for characterizing acid strength.
