Protonation constant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009615
An equilibrium constant that quantifies the affinity of a chemical species for a proton in solution. It describes the equilibrium between a base and its conjugate acid, reflecting the strength of the base. The value is expressed as log K and is dependent on temperature and ionic strength.
