Proton-bound dimer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013449
A molecular ion formed by the association of two neutral molecules with a single proton. This species is typically observed in mass spectrometry, particularly in electrospray ionization, where proton transfer reactions are common. The proton acts as a bridge between the two molecules, holding them together.
