Protonic conductivity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013450

The ability of a material to conduct electrical charge through the movement of protons (H+ ions). This phenomenon is observed in certain solid-state materials, such as polymers, ceramics, and composites, which contain mobile proton carriers. Protonic conductivity is measured in Siemens per centimeter and is a key property for materials used in fuel cells, sensors, and electrochemical devices.
