Proton doping
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009609
The process of introducing protons into a polymer matrix to increase its electrical conductivity, particularly in intrinsically conducting polymers. This typically involves treating the polymer with a protonic acid, which leads to the formation of charge carriers. Polyanilines are a common example of polymers that exhibit enhanced conductivity upon proton doping.
