Polyacetylenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009093
A class of conjugated polymers characterized by a backbone consisting of alternating single and double carbon-carbon bonds. These polymers can exhibit high electrical conductivity upon doping, transforming from insulators to semiconductors or even metals. The simplest member is polyacetylene, formed from the polymerization of acetylene.
