Acetylenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000127
A class of unsaturated hydrocarbons characterized by the presence of at least one carbon-carbon triple bond. These compounds are also systematically known as alkynes. The simplest member of this series is ethyne, commonly called acetylene, which is widely used in welding and as a chemical feedstock.
