Ynols
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012781
Organic compounds that possess a hydroxyl group directly bonded to a carbon atom that is part of a carbon-carbon triple bond. These are the alkyne analogs of enols, which have a hydroxyl group attached to a carbon-carbon double bond. Ynols are tautomers of ketenes, with the equilibrium typically favoring the ketene form.
