Enols
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003941
Unsaturated organic compounds containing a hydroxyl group directly attached to one of the carbon atoms of a carbon-carbon double bond. These compounds are tautomers of aldehydes or ketones, existing in equilibrium with their keto forms. The equilibrium position between the enol and keto forms is influenced by factors such as solvent, temperature, and substituents, with the keto form often being more stable.
