Alkenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000397
Unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons that contain at least one carbon-carbon double bond. Their general formula for acyclic monoalkenes is CnH2n, indicating two fewer hydrogen atoms than the corresponding alkane. These compounds are also known as olefins and are characterized by their reactivity at the double bond.
