Π-conjugated system
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008558
A molecular system containing a series of alternating single and multiple bonds, or a system with delocalized pi electrons across adjacent p-orbitals. This arrangement allows for the delocalization of electrons, leading to enhanced electronic conductivity and optical properties. Conjugated polymers are widely used in organic electronics and optoelectronics.
