Polygermane
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009141
A polymer containing a backbone composed primarily of germanium atoms, often with organic substituents. These polymers are analogous to polysilanes and exhibit interesting electronic and optical properties due to the delocalization of sigma electrons along the germanium chain. Polygermanes are explored for applications in optoelectronics and as ceramic precursors.
