Conjugated polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002442
A macromolecule with a backbone structure consisting of alternating single and multiple bonds, such as double or triple bonds. This arrangement of pi-orbitals allows for the delocalization of electrons along the polymer chain, giving rise to unique electronic and optical properties. Due to this electron delocalization, conjugated polymers can exhibit electrical conductivity upon doping and are used in applications like organic light-emitting diodes, solar cells, and sensors.
