Polyarylenevinylenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009107
A class of conjugated polymers characterized by repeating units that contain both arylene (aromatic) groups and vinylene (carbon-carbon double bond) linkages in the main chain. These polymers exhibit extended pi-electron delocalization along the backbone, which imparts semiconducting or conducting properties. They are often synthesized via Wittig or Heck coupling reactions and are used in organic light-emitting diodes and solar cells.
