Polyarylenethynylenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009106
A class of conjugated polymers characterized by a backbone structure containing alternating aromatic (arylene) rings and carbon-carbon triple bonds (ethynylene units). This alternating arrangement creates an extended pi-conjugated system, giving these materials interesting electronic and optical properties. Their synthesis is often achieved through coupling reactions like the Sonogashira coupling.
