Adduct ion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000239
A charged species formed by the association of an ion with one or more neutral molecules, without the loss of any atoms. This type of ion is commonly observed in mass spectrometry, where it results from the attachment of a proton or another small ion to a neutral analyte molecule. The mass of an adduct ion is the sum of the masses of its constituent parts.
