Koppel-Palm solvent parameters
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006379
A four-term set of empirical solvent parameters describing solvation through polarity Y, derived from the dielectric constant, polarizability P, derived from the refractive index, and electrophilicity E and basicity B, the last two taken from spectral shifts of probe molecules. They are combined in a multiparameter linear free energy equation to correlate solvent effects on rates and equilibrium constants.
