Basicity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001132

The inherent ability of a chemical species to act as a base, quantified by its tendency to accept a proton or donate an electron pair. This property is often expressed by the base dissociation constant (Kb) or the pKb value. A higher Kb value indicates a stronger base.
