Brønsted base
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001512
A chemical species that can accept a hydron (a proton, H+) from another chemical species. This acceptance typically involves the formation of a new covalent bond with the hydron. In a conjugate acid-base pair, the Brønsted base is the species formed after the Brønsted acid has donated its hydron.
