Correlation analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002599
A statistical method used to examine the relationship between two or more variables, often applied in physical organic chemistry to relate structural changes to reactivity or spectroscopic properties. It involves developing mathematical models, such as linear free-energy relationships, to quantify these relationships. The Hammett equation is a well-known example of a correlation analysis used to predict reaction rates.
