Regression analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010107
A set of statistical processes for estimating the relationships among variables, specifically to model a dependent variable based on one or more independent variables. The analysis produces a mathematical equation that describes how the inputs affect the output. Common forms include linear regression, which models the relationship using a straight line, and nonlinear regression for more complex associations.
