Partial least squares
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008490
A statistical method that relates a set of predictor variables to a set of response variables by projecting them onto a new set of latent variables. It is particularly useful when there are many predictor variables, multicollinearity among them, or when the number of predictors exceeds the number of observations. This technique is widely used in chemometrics for quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling.
