PLS latent variable

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009042

A composite variable constructed in Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression that captures the maximum covariance between the predictor variables (X) and the response variables (Y). These latent variables are linear combinations of the original variables, designed to summarize the most relevant information for predicting Y. They are also known as PLS components or factors.
