Latent variable

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006475

A variable that is not directly observed but is inferred from other observed variables in a statistical model. These variables represent underlying concepts or factors that influence the measured data. In chemometrics, latent variables are often used to reduce the dimensionality of complex datasets and to identify patterns or relationships.
