Ordinary least squares regression
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008304
A statistical method for estimating the unknown coefficients in a linear regression model. The procedure finds the optimal parameters by minimizing the sum of the squared vertical distances between the observed data points and the values predicted by the linear function. This method assumes that the errors in the dependent variable have constant variance and are uncorrelated.
