Ordinary wave
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008305
One of two independent plane-polarized waves that propagate through an anisotropic medium, such as a birefringent crystal. This wave obeys Snell's law of refraction and has a refractive index that is independent of its direction of propagation. Its polarization is perpendicular to the principal plane of the crystal.
