Refraction effects
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010098
The reduction in the luminescence flux that reaches a detector placed away from a rectangular sample, caused by refraction of the emitted light at the sample surface. For a sample medium of refractive index n, the detected flux is lower by a factor of approximately n squared than it would be in a medium of refractive index 1.0.
