Radiation reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009827
A chemical transformation induced in a polymer by exposure to high-energy radiation, such as gamma rays, X-rays, or electron beams. These reactions can lead to chain scission, crosslinking, or the formation of new functional groups. The specific outcome depends on the polymer structure and the type and dose of radiation.
