Radiant quantities

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013467

A set of physical properties used to describe electromagnetic radiation, based on the total energy transported by the radiation, irrespective of its effect on the human eye. These quantities measure the flow and distribution of radiant energy in space and time. Examples include radiant energy (measured in joules), radiant flux or power (watts), and radiant intensity (watts per steradian), which contrast with their photometric counterparts that are weighted by the spectral sensitivity of the eye.
