Adsorption

A surface phenomenon where molecules of a gas or liquid adhere to the surface of a solid adsorbent material. In oil and gas, this process is used for dehydration of natural gas, removal of impurities, or separation of hydrocarbon components. Common adsorbents include molecular sieves, activated carbon, and silica gel.
