Vapor recovery unit
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004008
A system designed to capture hydrocarbon vapors that would otherwise be vented to the atmosphere from storage tanks, loading operations, or other process equipment. It typically uses compression, condensation, or adsorption to recover these volatile organic compounds. The recovered hydrocarbons can then be returned to the production stream or sold, reducing emissions and product loss.
