Vapor pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004007
The pressure at which a liquid and its vapor are in equilibrium at a specific temperature within a closed container. As temperature increases, more molecules escape the liquid phase, causing the vapor pressure to rise. This property is a measure of a liquid's volatility and is a key parameter in designing separators, managing drilling fluid properties, and preventing cavitation in pumps.
