Desiccant
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001029
A substance that absorbs or adsorbs water vapor from a gas or liquid stream, used in dehydration processes. Solid desiccants, such as silica gel, activated alumina, or molecular sieves, are commonly employed in packed beds to remove moisture from natural gas. Liquid desiccants, like glycols, also serve this purpose in absorption-based dehydration systems.
