Liquid desiccant
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002183
A hygroscopic liquid, such as glycol, used to absorb water vapor from natural gas or other gas streams. This substance is circulated through a contactor tower where it directly interacts with the wet gas, removing moisture to prevent hydrate formation and corrosion. The water-rich desiccant is then regenerated by heating to release the absorbed water.
