Liquid blocking
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002182
A phenomenon in heavy oil reservoirs where accumulated liquids, such as water or condensed steam, impede the flow of oil or gas towards the wellbore. This can occur in production wells during steam injection processes or in gas wells producing from heavy oil formations. Remedial actions often involve pumping off the liquid or using gas lift to clear the wellbore.
