Fireflooding
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001425
An enhanced oil recovery method that involves igniting a portion of the oil in the reservoir by injecting air or an oxygen-enriched gas. The combustion front moves through the reservoir, generating heat that reduces the viscosity of the remaining oil and drives it towards production wells. This process is also known as in situ combustion and can be applied in both dry and wet variations.
