Dry forward combustion
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001205
An in-situ combustion process where air is injected into a reservoir, igniting the crude oil and creating a combustion front that moves forward, away from the injection well. The heat generated reduces oil viscosity and vaporizes lighter components, which are then pushed towards production wells. This method is typically applied to heavy oil reservoirs.
