Dry combustion
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001204
An in situ combustion process where air or an oxygen-enriched gas is injected into a heavy oil reservoir to ignite a portion of the oil. The combustion front moves through the reservoir, heating the remaining oil and driving it towards production wells. This method is characterized by the absence of water injection, relying solely on the heat generated by the burning oil.
