Wet combustion
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004496
An enhanced oil recovery method that combines forward combustion with the injection of water along with air. As the combustion front moves through the reservoir, the injected water is vaporized into steam, which then moves ahead of the front, heating and displacing oil. This process recovers heat that would otherwise be left behind in the burned rock, transferring it to the unburned portion of the reservoir.
