Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001426
A device positioned at the top of a perforating gun string that initiates the detonation sequence of the shaped charges. It contains an explosive train that is activated by an electrical signal, pressure pulse, or mechanical impact from the surface. The firing head transmits the detonation to the detonators within the gun, causing the charges to fire and create perforations in the casing.
