Primer cord

A flexible cord containing a high explosive material, used to initiate detonation in other explosive devices, such as shaped charges in a perforating gun. It transmits a detonation wave along its length to multiple charges simultaneously. The core material is often pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) or hexogen (RDX).
