Detonating cord

A flexible cord containing a core of high explosive, used to transmit a detonation wave along the length of a perforating gun string. It connects individual shaped charges or charge banks, initiating them in a predetermined sequence or simultaneously. The cord's explosive core is typically PETN (pentaerythritol tetranitrate).
