Shaped charge
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003355
An explosive device designed to focus the energy of its detonation into a high-velocity jet of material, used primarily for perforating well casings and cement. The conical liner within the charge collapses and forms a jet that can penetrate steel and rock. This creates channels for hydrocarbons to flow from the reservoir into the wellbore.
