Casing gun

A perforating gun designed to be run inside the well's production casing to create holes through the casing and into the surrounding reservoir rock. These guns contain shaped charges that, upon detonation, form high-velocity jets to penetrate the steel casing and cement sheath. Casing guns are typically conveyed on wireline or coiled tubing.
